Sources & corrections
A visible trail from object to sentence
How the desk selects records, handles uncertainty and repairs material errors.
Strong sources
A source is judged by proximity to evidence, institutional responsibility, named authorship, date and inspectable method. Museums support object records; W3C supports web standards; scientific agencies support physical explanations.
Uncertainty
Approximate dates remain ranges. Similar forms are described as comparisons unless a source documents transmission or influence.
Submit a correction
Email corrections@gildedsignal.org with the URL, disputed passage, proposed correction and supporting source. State any relationship to the subject.
Correction notes
Spelling fixes may be silent. A material correction records the date, original issue and corrected account. No material corrections are recorded in this prepublication edition.
